My dear friend,

We’ve come a long way, haven’t we? It’s been nearly a year since we started this journey together. This is letter 50. It’s funny how time seems to slip away when we look back. It feels like just yesterday, but in reality, months and years have passed. As I sat down to write this letter, I pondered over what to share on this special day for us.

After having some reflection, I decided that there is nothing better than writing about my small interaction with Robin Sharma. I shared about it in last week’s letter but I am still in awe with those moments of meeting that legendary human. I’d like to share some valuable lessons I took away from interaction with Robin on Saturday 16Sept, 2023:

  • Prioritizing Others: Robin was at a book signing event for his readers, and instead of sitting at his desk, he chose to stand and greet people in the queue personally. This act emphasized the importance of putting others before oneself. Instead of constantly asking, “What’s in it for me?” let’s consider, “What can I do for others? How can I serve others? Be a man of service.
  • Humility and patience– His modest way of approaching people and talking to them, left everyone speechless. He exuded down-to-earth humility, which was truly remarkable.

  • Focus and Presence: One of my favorite takeaways was his unwavering focus and attention during conversations. He listened intently, fully engaged in the moment. How many of us are actually in the moment when we are talking or listening? He interacted with everyone and listened to every word with highest attention and focus. He was 100% there in the moment. Isn’t it something amazing? Wherever we are, let’s be there 100%.
  • Embracing Your Unique Journey: When asked about life’s direction and how to live it, Robin responded with humility, stating that he, too, is on a continuous journey of learning and growth. He emphasized that each person’s journey is unique, and it doesn’t have to mirror anyone else’s. So, remember, your path is distinctive, and you can be your own guiding light.

Though it was a small interaction with him, it left a long-lasting impact on me and I hope that these learnings will stay with me for life. And as he always teaches, a leader doesn’t need a title. Let’s be ready to lead our lives without any title by being the best version of our own being.

In this concise letter, my hope is to add some value to your life. I wish you a life wherein you embark on your own journey.

As always, I stand beside you in your unique journey, ready to offer any support you may need.

Your friend for life,
Jogi
