My dear friend,

If you want to be happy, set a goal that commands your thoughts, liberates your energy and inspires your hope. – Andrew Carnegie

I was on a panel discussion last week and the topic was – balancing success by nurturing health and wellness. Along with other experts, I put my thoughts on what a good life is. Before you proceed, I invite you to take a moment and reflect on your personal definition of a good life. It can be a single sentence, a solitary word, or any sentiment that resonates with you at this point in time.

Some two decades ago, one of my favorite professors in my college asked me – Jogi, what do you think life is? I replied without hesitation, “Life is a struggle.” That answer still lingers in my memory. Yet, as time went on and I embarked on various endeavors, life unfolded in ways I had never imagined. I was in a job that taught me invaluable lessons, traversed the world as an explorer and avid learner, and found that my perception of life had completely transformed.

Over the past couple of years, life has taken me through diverse experiences, leading me to a profound realization. Life, in its essence, is simply meant to be lived, and its definition is ever-evolving based on the circumstances we face. When all is well, life appears beautiful. However, in the face of challenges (which will inevitably arise), our mood and understanding of life’s meaning adapt accordingly.

At this point of time in my life, I perceive life as an opportunity to live fully. None of us truly knows where we come from or where we are headed. We are allotted a finite number of breaths to utilize during our time here. Moreover, I have come to appreciate the significance of living life holistically. By consciously focusing on all vital aspects of life and wholeheartedly engaging in each one to the fullest, we can realize our highest potential.

We need to know and define our prime areas of life like health, wealth, relationship, recreation, career and so on. After defining these areas, we must set the highest possible goals in these areas to live life in a full circle completely. Don’t you think if we are able to experience our supreme self in all areas of life, we will be the best version of our own self on the planet earth?

So the question you need to ask yourself today – what’s your definition of a good life and how will you improve it in the coming days/weeks/years? Are you on the journey to your dreams? If not, then what do you need to change? Take decisive action and define life on your own terms, my friend.

I wish you a life wherein you create your own definition of good life and strive to be the best version of yourself to live a good life.

Your friend for life,
Jogi
