My dear friend,

“It is in our nature to explore, to reach out into the unknown. The only true failure would be not to explore at all.”- Ernest Shackleton

Let’s talk about one of my favorite words today – Explore! If we see the literal meaning of the word explore – it’s – to search through, to travel around a place, etc. in order to learn about it. As we grow in life in the journey from a toddler to a conscious being, this is one thing which we do consistently – exploration.

Recently I read the book Tiya – A parrot’s journey home for the second time. I read it years ago but second reading always brings a new meaning. This is a beautiful story of Tiya, a parrot, who went out to explore more in life. And definitely as he explored more, he learnt more about life. And needless to mention that he has both pleasant and unpleasant experiences.

Is exploration only about physical journeys? No, never! It’s actually a mindset – a way to approach life with curiosity and an open mind. When we explore, we venture into the unknown and take a step towards the possibilities and opportunities for us. In a way, we embark on the transformative journey of self-reflection and discovery. We get to know our hidden strength, passions and talents that may have remained hidden if we won’t venture into unknown territories.

Exploration also teaches us resilience. As we encounter obstacles and face challenges along the way physically and mentally, we develop the ability to adapt, to find alternative paths, and to persevere. Each setback becomes an opportunity for growth, for learning valuable lessons that shape our character and strengthen our resolve.

Exploration also fosters a deep appreciation for the diversity and interconnectedness of the world. As we explore different cultures, landscapes, and ways of life, we begin to recognize the beauty in our shared humanity and the richness that arises from our differences. We develop empathy and understanding, cultivating a global perspective that transcends borders and fosters unity.

Moreover, exploration nurtures a lifelong love of learning which comes automatically and unknowingly with it. The thirst for knowledge becomes insatiable as we uncover new insights, challenge existing beliefs, and question the status quo. We become lifelong students, continuously seeking to expand our knowledge and make meaningful contributions to the world.

So, my friend, let us embrace the spirit of exploration. Let us venture into the unknown, both externally and internally within ourselves. Let us be open to new experiences, eager to learn, and fearless in our pursuit of growth and discovery. For it is through exploration that we truly live, finding fulfillment and purpose in the ever-unfolding journey of life.

I wish you an infinite exploration filled with curiosity throughout your life!

Your friend for life,
Jogi
